Carl McKever Jr. was born on November 10, 1988 at Broward General Hospital to the lovely parents of Angela McKever and Carl McKever Sr. When he was born, he had the common cold and had to stay in the hospital for intensive care for two weeks. He was born around 2:00am on November 10th.

Carl has one brother and one sister. His brother's name is Christopher McKever and he is 18 years old. His sister's name is Carlette McCall and she is 22 years old. Carl was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale until the age of 5. Then, he moved to Delray Beach and resided there for about 11 years. While in Delray Beach, he attended the following schools:

Carl attended Delray Teen Society for 3 years. At Teen Society, he worked part-time, during the summer, at Planned Parenthood of South Palm Beach and Broward Counties as a Data Entry Processor. He published articles in the Sun-Sentinel newspaper for Planned Parenthood.

After living in Delray Beach for 11 years, he moved to Pompano Beach and attended Blanche Ely High School. He was a Sophomore when he started out at this school. He continued his studies at this school until graduation. He graduated on May 26, 2007 at the Faith Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with his high school diploma. During that summer, he applied for Tallahassee Community College and got accepted. However, he did not make any adequate housing plans or do any job-searching in Tallahassee. Therefore, he did not attend this college. He did attend the Student Orientation at Tallahassee Community College. After orientation, he applied for enrollment at the ITT Technical Institute in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

He started classes during the Fall of 2007 at the ITT Technical Institute and is now in his last semester before graduation. He will be graduating in September 2009 with his Associate of Science degree in Information Technology/Computer Networking Systems.

He plans on pursuing his college education at DeVry University in Fort Lauderdale.

~POETIC TALENT~
At the age of 16, he began writing poetry. The purpose of writing poetry was to relieve inner pain. Writing poetry was and still is a therapy for me. Before he begins to write a poem, he does a self-evaluation of myself. During this time, he was very depressed and stressed out. He was going through puberty and he didn't have much friends. He felt as if no one loved him. He was sinking into depression more and more each day. He was born and raised in the church, but that does not mean that he knew who Jesus was. He heard about Him and what He could do, but never believed until I was 16 years old. That's when he accepted him into my life. Two years after writing poetry, he became the Florida State Poetry Ambassador through the International Library of Poetry (located in Owings Mills, Maryland). Six months after this title was given to me, he self-published his first mini book of poetry through Lulu Marketplace, called My Book of Poetry. In January 2009, he revised his book and self-published it again through InstantPublisher. He called the new name of this book “Poetic Expressions”.

~FUTURE ASPIRATIONS~
Right now, his main goal is to graduate from the ITT Technical Institute in September 2009 with his Associate of Science degree in Information Technology. He wants to become a certified network administrator for one of the top-ten networking industries in South Florida. He plans on getting my Network+ and A+ certification within one year. His next goal is to write an autobiography and publish it with an ISBN by October 2009. He wants to continue writing poems until he has about 80 of them published and read worldwide through the Internet. He would also like to see his title, “Florida State Poetry Ambassador”, in all poetic organizations around the world.
